The famous Kon-Tiki Fish Casserole

When visiting Thor Heyerdahl at his mansion on the island of Tenerife, Spain, representatives from the Kon-Tiki Museum and Norwegian gastronomy collaborated with Heyerdahl to compose a fish casserole based on the tastes that Heyerdahl and his crew became familiar with on the Kon-Tiki Expedition in 1947.

Trying combinations of seafood, vegetables and exotic spicery, the Kon-Tiki Fish Casserole was finally approved by Thor Heyerdahl. His only term was that a part of the income from the soup should finance a fund that every day awarded a prize to children and youth who had made a contribution to the preservation of marine ecology. La Baguette in Arrival Hall is a modern lunch bar for people on the go. As the name indicates, the café serves crunchy baguettes with different fillings: ham and cheese, egg and tomato, chicken, tuna and roast beef. Fresh ingredients are a given at La Baguette.
